Sing With Us

Do you love to sing? Are you are passionate about music? Do you have some choral experience, a strong sense of pitch and rhythm, and an understanding of basic vocal technique? Consider joining our choral family!

Auditions for our choirs typically take place in June each year. Singers in high school may audition for Bluestem. Singers ages 18-25 are invited to audition for Prairie Voices, while singers ages 26 and over are invited to audition for Horizon.

An audition typically consists of the following:

• Singing a short, unaccompanied piece (memorized or unmemorized, at the request of the director)

• Sight-singing

• Basic ear training

• Vocal range assessment

• A brief chat with the director

Every year, our choirs accept singers with varying levels of experience and skill. The potential of the applicant's voice, as well as attitude and personality, are all taken into consideration during the decision process.
