Contact Vic Pankratz
Artistic Director

Vic Pankratz's love of teaching, singing and conducting has manifested itself into a long career at Westgate Mennonite Collegiate, and on stages across western Canada. At Westgate he is in charge of the choral program, directing six ensembles. He received his formal training at Canadian Mennonite Bible College, graduating with a Bachelor of Church Music, a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Winnipeg, and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Manitoba.

He has enjoyed a wealth of opportunities in music performance. Vic appeared for six seasons on CBC television's Hymn Sing, has done solo work with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, The Winnipeg Philharmonic Choir, Groundswell, the Winnipeg Bach Festival the Regina Symphony Orchestra and Philharmonic Choir, Pro Coro of Edmonton, and The Winnipeg Singers. He has also appeared in productions with the Manitoba Opera Association, the Edmonton Fringe Festival, and Dry Cold Productions.

Vic has been fortunate to conduct groups such as the Westman Youth Choir, the Central Manitoba Youth Choir, the Provincial Senior Honour Choir and the Louis Riel Senior Divisional Choir, and was artistic co-director of the Winnipeg Singers for four seasons.

To maintain some balance in his life Vic loves riding his bike year round and racing in the cyclocross season every fall, playing hockey, and following his two sons' careers in rock music. Vic is honoured and excited to be working with Scott Reimer and the dynamic Prairie Voices.

  Scott Reimer

Scott grew up in a family and community with a strong choral tradition. Raised in Gretna and a graduate of W.C. Miller Collegiate in Altona, he recently completed his B. Ed. from the University of Manitoba and now teaches high school science.

Since moving to Winnipeg, he has sung with a number of organizations, including the Winnipeg Singers, Canzona, and Camerata Nova and is a member and cofounder of the a cappella ensemble Antiphony. His performance highlights include singing in the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra's productions of Video Games Live and Carmina Burana, performing in a quartet opposite Measha Brueggergosman with the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra, representing Manitoba in the National Youth Choir 2008, and representing Canada in the World Youth Choir in 2009 and 2010.

Scott is excited to be back with Prairie Voices for his seventh season.
